User Persona 1: Ecosystem Head

Brief Note:

Many new ecosystems are coming up, such as Sui, Aptos, Arbitrum, and so on. These projects usually have grants and bounties to help get more projects to build on their ecosystem (even at the test-net stage). Sui for example has 60+ projects even though it is in test-net. The main hurdle arises for the ecosystem head to track the status of these projects once the grants have been disbursed out. A typical way of tracking could be mail-updates from the team to the ecosystem head or the ecosystem head following the project’s tracker and so on. There isn’t one tool offering this sort of tracking to these projects.

Method:

Index discord data from the discord of these projects and then serve it to the ecosystem heads. Most relevant data is currently from the announcements channel of the project’s discord. Remaining channels do not have as much relevant info- even feedback channels do not have a lot of concrete feeedback since the chain itself is still in test-net and they haven’t even tested the product with actual money.

Here, you can see announcements from the Porto Finance Discord (a de-fi project on Arbirtrum) which might be relevant for the ecosystem head to keep track of the ongoing updates.

Challenges

Not all projects might have a discord at this early stage- some of them might just have a twitter and a website.
Out of the small sample size of 8 DEX projects though, 6 had a discord and only 2 didn’t.

Since only the announcements channel of the discord is relevant and the same info is being shared on tweets, it does not make much sense to create a discord bot to just index this one channel.

For example, Porto has announced the same news of its docs on its twitter handle too.

<aside> 💡 The main key point here is the information available from 2-3 channels on discord be it project updates or contests to engage with the community, all of it is available in one place- the twitter account.

Ecosystem heads are limited in number. Even if we take 100 new chains like this coming up, it restricts TAM to just 100 users. Needs to be very high value to capitalize on such a small user base.
It is easier to build these dashboards only for the smaller chains like Sui and Aptos which have projects in the rungs of few hundred. Larger protocols have thousands of projects springing up and all of them would be hard to track.
